Visiting Delegation from Bangor University of UK

Richard Merfyn Jones, president of the Bangor University of UK, led the the delegation that visited our college on the morning at November 21st. The delegation consisted of Mark Jones, officer of Internatinal Office; Pro.Greg Chass, Dean of Chemistry Department; Doctor Janming Tang, Dean of Computer Science Department; Penny Dowdney, officer of Academic Department and so on.

  

Bangor University is a comprehensive government-funded institution approved by the British Education Ministry. It is a fully-accredited and leading university with over 100 years of history in international education. It has been a college of Wales University, but it has been an independent university since October 2007.

 

The delegates carried out extensive discussions on topics of students studies from Computer Science, E-Commerce, Art Design and Chemistry Department; exchange and training among teachers; and the Science and Technology program cooperation as well.

 

Professor Lou Yuangong, president of HHU and Lu Lin, vice president of HHU showed the delegates around the three campuses at 14;00 in the afternoon. And then Li Lianqun, vice president of HHU introduced the construction plan of the new campus. Moreover, the delegates visited the computer room, software lab and animation lab.

 

Subsequently, the visiting delegation had a talk with the deans, some teachers and students from International College, Computer Science Department and the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering. The discussion focused on curricula teaching, students social practise and related academic research. The students exchanged their opinions with the delegates about how to improve their professional knowledge and English level, and issues on studying abroad.

 

The delegates from Bangor University gave high praise for the great developments HHU has achieved in recent years, as well as teaching facilities. They thought the conditions in the software and animation laboratory was as good as any university of the UK. At the same time, the fluent English and good professional knowledge of both teachers and students were highly praised by the delegates.

 

The discussion was held in a friendly and warm atmosphere. It promoted mutual understanding and friendship.
